Summer Review 2021

We’ve had lots of fun over the summer.A trip to Hamilton to see our grandbaby Francis for the first time. A trip to port Alberni with another island girl, patty archer. We saw relatives, friends and got to say goodbye to auntie donna. We went around forest fires, had mudslides behind us, road closures in front of us, tons of construction and ferry waits to get on and off the island. Sunny days galore, a bit of liquid sunshine to make sure we didn’t miss all the elements.

Summer is always a time of relaxation and enjoying my patio and my flowers.

We were able to still have time to meet and greet new puppies, solve dog problems that people were having with their Pawtners and enjoy time with mg own dogs.

We saw the van Gogh exhibit in calgary and celebrated our 40th anniversary and 66th birthday for Franco.

Now we are heading in to fall with the long weekend ahead of us, kids are home, we get to see the fall colours at their cabin and get a visit in.

dog shows are opening up, we have a barn hunt to attend and ckoc plus a road trip to Utah to see the “saints come marching in”, red deer and a dear friend visiting us for thanksgiving, and then the grandbabies first Halloween.

our students are working on their personal bests for agility, obedience, conformation, rally obedience, nosework and couch potato 101.

On to our September adventures……..

Classes are full, and more adventures await.

Dog Days Of Summer

Summer is in full swing, we are keeping busy with dog grooming and puppy classes, walk n train and agility, privates and my ‘older ladies’ group. With dog shows closed, it has been a relaxing time for me. A new business plan with puppy classes in groups of 4, no other group classes except for the walk n train and my monday afternoon ladies, it has been quite the eye opener.

To book your spot you can text me at 403-392-5163

Privates are $50 per hour in a block of 4 hours/$200.00

Puppy class is $150.00 for 5 weeks, one hour per week.

Agility is $120.00 for 4 weeks, one hour per week.

Barn Hunt is $120.00 for 4 weeks, one hour per week

Nosework is $120.00 for 4 weeks, one hour per week

Grooming prices start at $50, small dogs only.

It is really nice to be at home in the evenings and watch the sun set.

Nosey Pawtners November – 2019

Noseys have made me very proud this year as they have set foot in the ring, to start or accomplish the goals that they set out to achieve.

Pre C.D., C.D. for Obedience. Rally Obedience they competed at all levels with the exception of Masters and we have people wanting to compete in that class for 2020. They set personal bests and made me smile everytime they set foot in the ring. Conformation, Agility, Barn Hunt, some are competing in CAP and others are doing Tracking. They have achieved National Rankings for their breeds in Conformation and Rally Obedience and what sets them all apart is their willingness to work and create the teamwork and learn that it is not all about the blue ribbon.

From the “I came LAST but I Passed” to the 100’s,I enjoyed each and every footsetep, I look forward to 2020 and sharing in new memories.

Some simply come to Nosey Pawtners to create a bond with their dog while they enjoy training every week and rising to the challenges that I set out on their way to their goals.

Thank you all for the referrals of new students and Dog Grooming clients, much appreciated.

Sookie and I appreciate the comraderie and the memories of our travelling pawtners here in Canada and the United States and we look forward to entertaining you as we go about our journey to our Advanced Title in Rally Obedience.

Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year

As we enter the final days of 2019, I have enjoyed the memories, as bittersweet that some may be.

I congratulate all the Noseys that have stepped in to the ring and thus upped the ante for 2020 with achieving some pretty sweet scores and outstanding ringcraft, which led to success within their breed and group standings it was a very exciting year.

Sookie and I are working on our teamwork for 2020 and the U.S. Nationals and the arrival of her 1/2 sister Scarlet has presented some new challenges for us both.

Registrations are open for all classes $200.00 for 6 weeks with the exception of conformation which is still $20 per class. E transfer is available to noseypawtners@gmail.com

We had a lovely Pawty to round off our year, thanks to everybody that Pawticipated, some lovely gifts and great stealing. Some great suggestions for next years festivities.

We have 2 events planned to start off the year. An Introduction to Barn Hunt Clinic which is very popular and a Puppies Want To Pawty Fun Match to get everyone ready for the first show of the year at the end of January.

I wish everyone the best of the holiday season, enjoy your families and friends, embrace the memories of those that have passed this year, raise a glass and toast them all, and yes there are furry friends included in my toast as well. It will be our first Christmas without Noelle.

See you in 2020 and I look forward to making many new memories with you all.

Brrrr – I am tired of the cold

As we wind down to the end of February there are many activities in my life. The Winter Games have just started in Red Deer, streets are closed and it is making it difficult for students to get to classes. The -25+, add the whine chill making it to -31 and it all takes its toll.

Franco is headed off to Ottawa for the Annual sausage making festival with the girls and famiglia di melone, a small party of 30 or so for dinners etc.

I plan on finishing up as many of my classes as I can and enjoying some fun and fellowship while my hubby is away. He has arranged snow removal, the car has it’s new headlight and battery, the furnace and vents are freshly cleaned and there is food in the freezer so I won’t need to go out much.

As I arrange my feb/march schedule it kind of looks like this:

Mondays is Conformation @ 7 p.m.

Tuesdays is Puppies Play N Learn and Agility at 6:30/7:30/8:30

Wednesdays is Obedience at 1:15

Thursdays is SDDA Scent Detection and Rally Excellent/Masters at 6:30/7:30

Saturdays is Obedience and Barn Hunt 12:45/2 p.m.

We had planned for students to be attending the C-Wags and Caro Trials plus Scent Detection, Agility and Barn Hunt, but our numbers have dropped due to weather, illness or injury to dogs and handlers.

We hope that we will be able to attend more events in March and April.

2019 Class Schedule

Puppies Want To Pawty

Another great Saturday at Nosey Pawtners, even though we had bad weather the night before we still had 11 hardy souls brave the weather to prevail.

Best in Sweepstakes was Ellen and her cocker spaniel and Best of Opposite was Alin and her Scottish terrier.

Thanks to all who travelled from 2 hours north and south of the city and points in between, we look forward to see you all again in February for our next event.

Sookie Is A Star

#sookieisastar is her hashtag and she has been since the day Ruth placed her in my arms.

Our journey in conformation has taken us to her American Championship title and being named Best In Futurity at the MPCA national Specialty

She is working in obedience, rally obedience, nosework, and agility, plus couch potato 101.

She has her first two titles in NADAC, her IAC and TN-N and is currently working on her Hoopers, Chances, Jumpers and Touch N Go titles.

We have been fortunate to work with Lynda Bowers and Janet Ooms to keep us on track for Sookie’s agility career.
